Book Review: Their Sweet Surrender
She told him she’d kill him; he fell in love with her. It’s all gone downhill since then—well, depending on which of them you ask.
Brock Ultraman is the happiest man in Ghostlight Falls. He’s got a great dog, fabulous hair, and a spot as the star pitcher for his favorite baseball team, the Wonder Balls. With ladies lining up to date him, Brock seems to have it all—but his heart belongs to one woman.
Sharon Silva is very beautiful, always busy, and thoroughly bothered by Brock. For years, the Candy Witch has tried every way she can think of to turn him down, but he won’t take the hint. Is he a complete jerk, or super dense? Either way, she wants nothing to do with him.
Then a major gingerbread mishap turns the holiday season upside down, forcing the opposites to work together for a night. As they try to fix the kitchen disaster, they’ll uncover each other’s pasts, share their hopes for the future, and discover what might be possible between them.
By night’s end, they’ll have to make the call: step up to the plate together—or watch Brock strike out for good.
Set in Ghostlight Falls, the coolest fictional small town in the Pacific Northwest, Their Sweet Surrender is a standalone paranormal novella packed with opposites attract romance, holiday romcom vibes, and plenty of slow-burn steam.
There’s a little bit of everything non-human in Ghostlight Falls, from shifters to cryptids to sentient objects, and even a few alien encounters. Get ready to meet the citizens and fall in love with the whole town!
My Review
Sharon and Brock were definitely not the best of friends when they first met each other years ago as young children. Yet, Brock already knew that Sharon would be his right away. He is serious about two things...baseball and Sharon. As they grew up, he got his own home. He was already making plans for Sharon to be his "witchy wife".
Slowly Brock found a way to Sharon's heart. The more time they spent together, she came to fall under his charm. Brock has a cheeky side to him. This is what I loved the most about Brock. He fell first and hard for Sharon. Yeah, he may have come off a little cocky, but it was very endearing.
I loved this book so much. It was fun to see the Wonder Balls again as well. It is always a fun time when I get to go to Ghostlight Falls. I am obsessed with Sharon and Brock. Their love was a home run.
