Audiobook Review: Save Me
Harper Brookes has never been on her own. As the daughter of wealthy parents, she grew up in a life of prestige and expectations. She did all the right things, including graduating from law school, marrying the man her family had chosen, and starting a family. Now, newly divorced and a single mother, she’s striking out on her own. After months of planning, she packs herself and her daughter up to build a new life in Cole County.
Whitaker Reed Lancaster left his wealthy family and life behind at eighteen. To them, he was nothing more than another pawn for his parents to manipulate. No one saw him; they saw the Lancaster name and what it could do for them until he was offered a job opportunity at Boulder Ranch. A decade later, he has no regrets choosing to work as a ranch hand and bullfighter, but there’s still something missing.
Their blind date is a disaster, but somehow, it’s only the beginning. Pulled back together in quiet, unexpected ways, with a little help from Harper’s daughter, they form a bond neither of them saw coming. Harper thought she had to do life alone, but Reed shows her that she doesn’t need saving, just someone who won’t let her fall.
My Review
I really applaud Harper. She found the courage and determination to leave behind her family's money and security and to make it on her own with her daughter, Ainsley. Reed has a heart of gold. Although, he is horrible at flirting. It is a good thing that Reed has some help on his side with Harper in the form of Ainsley. She is adorable and very smart. She knew what she was doing. I love the chemistry between Harper and Reed. It was jalapeno level spicy.
Grab the ALC version of this book. Performed in dual narration by Audrey Obeyn & Sean Masters. I love Audrey and Sean. They are two of my favorite narrators. To hear them voice Harper and Reed is a pure delight for the ears. Such a good story. Harper and Reed saved each other.
