Book Review: Divorce of Convenience
When Stephanie’s grandmother passes away, she leaves her restaurant to her favorite granddaughter, with one caveat… Stephanie must be single, widowed, or divorced to inherit it. It’s everything Stephanie’s ever wanted, except she is happily married to her husband, Peter. With her family all too eager to swoop in and claim it as their own, Stephanie must choose between her husband and her dream of owning the restaurant she’s worked in since she graduated culinary school.
Wanting to ensure her grandmother’s legacy is intact, Stephanie and Peter devise a plan to temporarily divorce, granting Stephanie ownership. With everything in motion, the ruse seems to have fooled everyone, but when has anything ever gone to plan?
Divorce of Convenience is a romantic parody intended for mature audiences.
My Review
I hate such a fun time reading this book. It was a one seat read for me. Once, I started reading, I did not stop until I reached the end.
Stephanie and Peter are so in love. If anything, the idea of them having to get a divorce in order for Stephanie to keep the restaurant just reminded them how much they loved each other. It was like game on. They could not keep their hands off each other.
Stephanie's grandmother leaving her "Christmas decorations" to Stephanie's evil stepmother is hilarious. Although, not as funny as Stephanie and the mishap at Peter's parents' house.
Irene does it again with this book. It is a pure, spicy, delight of a read!
