Book Review: Caged, Ambrosia, and Angustia
Every day, they pay to break him.
Locked inside a cage, Cain is the Carnivale's most infamous attraction—a man conditioned to crave pain, humiliation, and the darkness others fear. By night, he becomes something even more dangerous.
Then she appears.
My Review
OMG. I absolutely love this book. It may not be as gory as the as the first two books but not every story has to be gory. This book is dark but tragically emotional as well.
Cain's story hooked my heart. What he and Thalia share is tragic but poetic at the same time. In fact, I am still thinking about these two, long after I have finished this book.
They say The Colony Carnivale appears without warning—rolling into forgotten towns under blood-red skies, offering laughter, lights, and salvation for the bored and broken. But beneath the painted tents, hides a different sin, each act a different obsession. Lust. Power. Revenge. Fear. The Carnivale feeds on it all—and so do the souls trapped inside..
The games are rigged, the prizes are cursed, and the performers aren’t quite human. So buy your ticket, brave the insanity, and pray the lights go out after you do. Because once you enter, the show owns you.
Welcome to The Colony Carnivale—where the fun never dies, it just screams louder.
My Review
Oh, Thana, sweet and venomous Thana. This vampire does not leave a bloody trail only bodies. She savors every last drop of blood from her victims. Seet and innocent Kent. His blood was like golden honey to Thana. She could not resist the temptation of Kent. By the time he knew what was happening, it was too late. He and Thana brought down the tent for quite the performance.
Love this novella. I definitely sank my teeth into it. If you love vampire stores that feature a tempting seductress of a FMC, you will love this book.
IN ANGUSTIA
Born from death.
Angustia was raised by her grandmother and grew up in isolation within a house filled with silence, neglect, and under the shadow of a woman she never had the chance to meet.
When she discovers a cello hidden away in the attic, music becomes her escape, her identity, and quickly transforms into the one thing that makes her feel truly alive.
After a life-changing event, Angustia joins the Colony Carnivale, where she must choose between hiding behind the mask of her past or freeing herself from the weight cursed onto her.
My Review
Angustia's story is a beautiful story. She may have been born surrounded by death, but death is her friend. She is like a phoenix that rises out of the ashes.
"One note at a time, I fade like a dying heartbeat allowing the darkness to take over me and engulf me."
This book is fully complete story. It is longer than some of the previous books. By the end of the story, I was smiling and my heart was full of joy for Angustia.
