Book Review: Kill to Love

 


Kill to Love is for fans of dark romantic comedies like "Lights Out," and "Butcher and Blackbird."


Good girl Delphine has waited all her life to find her Soulmate, only to find out that he is a... notorious serial killer.


Delphine De Astor has never cried. She doesn't feel much of anything and has hidden her lack of emotion all her life for fear of being outed as Soulless – evil and unlovable.

Unfortunately, Delphine has also never felt her heart search for her Soulmate. Deemed Soulless, she is thrown into an Execution Battle where she must fight to the death against other Soulless for ten days (with advertisement breaks for stain remover). Pant-less, and armed with only sunscreen, Delphine runs into cannibals, psychopaths who are probably just Gemini’s, incestuous lovers, a madman in a pink sequined crop top and…Dig Graves.

Dig is a notorious, dark haired serial killer who hides his eyes behind heart shaped sunglasses. Long ago he had tried to kidnap Delphine and tenaciously hunts her down in the Battle.

And when they meet? Delphine’s heart finally beats.


My Review

Delphine may come from a powerful family, but this does not mean she is weak. She has a feisty spirit inside of her. So, it is only fitting that her soulmate be an unhinged k!ller named Dig. After Dig broke into her bedroom years ago, Delphine can't stop obsessing about him. Well particularly his red heart shaped sunglasses. She has a kink for his glasses. 

Dig and Delphine share a hate to love relationship. One moment they were trying to k!ll each other and the next they could not keep their hands of each other. To quote Dig "Are we fighting or flirting".

"His soulmate. The other part of his heart.

The soul that would match his.

Love"

There are so many hilarious moments in this book. I was laughing the whole way through it. I am afraid I can't share many of my favorite quotes as I would literally be quoting the whole book. I am going to need more books by this author. Especially in this style and genre. This book is a killer, must read!

"You're not delicate like a flower, you're delicate like a bomb".

Je vous assure que j'ai contacté plusieurs marabouts qui n'étaient que des imposteurs, des menteurs, des escrocs – je ne sais plus comment les qualifier. Mais après de longues recherches, j'ai rencontré ce vieil homme qui m'a rendu le bonheur, celui que je recherchais depuis tant d'années. Il est vraiment merveilleux. Je souffrais d'une rupture avec mon mari ; il m'a quittée il y a un an et un mois. J'ai même perdu mon emploi. Mon père était gravement malade, mais en trois jours seulement, je vous assure, des miracles se sont produits dans ma vie grâce à ce vieil homme. Aujourd'hui, je vis heureuse avec mon mari, mon père est guéri, j'ai été rappelée au travail – et même si j'ai refusé –, je suis maintenant dans un autre service, bien meilleur que le précédent. Je ne sais vraiment pas comment remercier ce vieil homme. Il s'est occupé de moi gratuitement. J'ai d'abord ressenti une profonde satisfaction avant de le récompenser. Il est vraiment très bon.
