Book Review: A War of Wolf

WILLOW
For Willow, love is out of the question. Being the primary caretaker of her disabled sister, as well as dealing with her own demons, takes up almost all of her spare time. She’s unwilling to part with the rest. Until he comes along. When she meets Milo Schwarz, everything changes in a second. The only problem is that he’s not exactly human.

MILO
Being at the top of the food chain has its perks... and even more so when you lead one of the most vicious packs in your city. Milo Schwarz has come home after retiring from his service in the military, but before he has time to so much as settle in, he catches a scent. Her scent. Now, the chase is on. Milo will stop at nothing to obtain the object of his affections... whether she accepts their bond or not.

A Wolf of War is the first in The Tooth & Claw Duet. This is a mafia-esque Werewolf Romance with a little more spice than plot. Please mind the warnings at the front of the book and on Juniper's website as it may contain upsetting content for some.

My Review
This book is broken into two parts. The first part is more of the setup of Willow and Milo. The second part is where all the steamy goodness happens. The tone of the story and relationship of Willow and Milo definitely changed from enemies to lovers/fated mates.

Once Willow got over her shock of who Milo is and why he took her, she relaxed. She showed a feisty side to her. That first time that she and Milo got together was steamy. There are several other members of Milo's wolf pack, Titan and Lachlan. Titan is a pup, so he still has some growing up to do. I liked his more childlike persona. Lachlan has a cheeky side to him. Both of these guys were nice additions to the story.

Which speaking of the story, it does end on a cliffhanger. I am invested in the story and am looking forward to reading the conclusion to this duet. This book has bite to it. I enjoyed both the plot and the romance. Juniper strikes a nice balance of both.
