My Review

This book picks up right after the first one. Therefore, you will need to read the first book, Monsterland in order to really appreciate this book. Although, why won't you want to read the first book as it was amazing and just picture the movie, Zombieland with Woody Harrelson featuring a guest appearance by Bill Murray.

Wyatt and his friends along with his step father now having survived Monsterland have to save the rest of the remaining people from Dr. Vincent's creatures. Yet, where do you begin with mummies and an purple goo that destroys everything in its path? It won't be easy but Wyatt and gang are up to the task.

Everything about this book is an "A+". The characters, storyline, writing, and there is plenty of action. Plus, there was a surprise or two thrown in the mix. I can't wait to read book three. This book is monstertastic!

Monsterland Reanimated by Michael Okon Talks On Writing

Do you obsessively plot out each point or just go with the flow?

Obsessively plot out every point of my story. Can never go with the flow. I’ll never finish if I do.

How did you do research for your book?

I spend all my day researching and developing my characters and stories. Google and Amazon have been my friends. I research my subject to death until I know everything there is to know about each of the characters. I write every night.

What are three of the most important things an author should do before their book is released?

Keep Calm – it’s a thrilled time when your book is about to be released (even when there is movie interest). But you have to keep a level head.

Re-read your book, after not reading it for some time. No one on planet earth knows this book better than you. You built a universe. It’s your characters, your design. If you do interviews, it would be helpful if you remembered certain aspects of the book that could stand out.

Pop a bottle of champagne, eat bacon, or throw a party. Do something that you don’t normally do to celebrate this incredible milestone in your life.

What are three of the most important things an author should do after their book is released?

You should already be on book 2, or 3. Don’t wait until after the book is released.  I’m already on Monsterland 3, and Witches Protection Program

Think about your future career. Where do you want to be in the next two years. Make a list or a vision board to create the future you desire.

Did I say write some more? What are some of your writing/publishing goals for this year?

I’m a big vision board guy. The following is what I put on my vision board last year. Get a literary agent, get an entertainment attorney, get a film agent, get a two-book publishing deal, get a movie deal for my book. I accomplished everything on my vision board. The last item – the movie deal – is in the works. As for future goals, I’m in the middle of Monsterland 3 – I’d like to get this published too. I’m also beating out the storylines and arcs for Monsterland 4 and 5. It seems that I’m going to be writing about monsters for the foreseeable future.
