Book Review: Phantasm
Join the Exodus or die.
Cecilia
After years of evading the Exodus, the secret society responsible for my family’s destruction, I’m back and seeking revenge. Every decade, the Exodus hosts the Reckoning, a deadly gathering where members engage in sinister games. My to cause as much destruction as I can even if it means infiltrating their prestigious party and eliminating them. Nothing will stand in my way—not even Darian Delacroix, the enigmatic Elder who has me in his sights.
Darian
Cecilia Van Der Meer believed she could escape the Exodus, but she was mistaken. As the heiress to one of the largest fortunes in the country and the daughter of the Elder behind my family’s demise, she has become a target. Fortunately for me, she’s now caught in my web, and I refuse to let her slip away. I’m determined to break her, just as her father shattered my family. But the stakes are high, and the lines between love and vengeance are about to blur.
What’s it going to be Cecilia? Marry me or die?

My Review
What I love about Harleigh is that she does not make you wait too long before she has you jumping in with both feet! Once I started reading, I was hooked and could not stop reading. Phantasm by Harleigh Beck is a one sitting, must read! You are not going to want to miss this book.
The hate banter between these two is the best. If I recall, Cecilia called Darian "ivory tower of wretchedness". That scene where Cecilia locked herself in the library and Darian broke through the door and started chasing her! The temperature rose in the room twenty degrees hotter.
Then there is that other scene where Darian uses a monster p@@n on Cecilia and calls the moment "romantasy". I about spit out my water!
While Cecilia will always push Darian's buttons, deep down he loves when Cecilia challenges him. These two are strongly matched and made for each other. Harleigh brings the spice in heaps, but she also tears at my heartstrings with little Darian. Those scenes in the past where Darian is a child got me.
