Book Review: As Fate Would Have It
Step into a realm where the ancient tales of Sky Woman, Eros and Psyche, Athena and Odysseus, Apollo and Hyacinthus, and Poseidon and Nerites are not mere stories but living, breathing entities whose essence permeates the very fabric of existence. In this enchanting anthology, five indie authors beckon you to a world where the lines between mortal and divine blur, where the unseen hand of fate intertwines with the deepest desires of the heart.
Within these pages, you will journey through the timeless landscapes of Native American lands and the celestial realms of Olympus, where the threads of destiny weave a tapestry of love, passion, and longing. With each tale, you will become immersed in the intricate dance between gods and mortals, as Sky Woman descends from the heavens to shape the native lands. Eros and Psyche navigate the labyrinth of desire, Hades and Presephone navigate the complexities of the dark underworld, Apollo and Hyacinthus explore the delicate balance between love and sacrifice, and Poseidon and Nerites find solace and passion beneath the waves.
Feel the whisper of ancient magic, the faint echo of forgotten chants, and the tantalizing brush of divine intervention. These sensual retellings will captivate your senses, drawing you deeper into a world where passion knows no bounds and destiny prevails over all.
The Heron's Fate by Meg Stratton
This story is truly a heartfelt story. I loved it a lot. You could feel the strong emotional connection that Awen and Ash shared. They are soulmates.
His Forever by T.J. Ryan
Looking for your next MM read, you will really enjoy this story. This story may be short but it still packs a lot and yet I did not want it to end. In fact, the ending does lead me to believe that this is not the end of Apollo, Zephyrus, Hyacinthus and that we could see them again in hopefully a fully length story.
Intertwined Hearts by A. Marie
This is another MM romance story. Yet, it also features another of my favorite tropes...age gap.
Poseidon and Nerites together are yummy. I could not get enough of them. Yet, I feel like I should be calling Poseidon by his other name "Daddy". I look forward to continuing this story.
Eternal Reign by Gigi Meier
Ooh, this story had me with the emotions. It is an age gap/forbidden romance. This story also felt and read more like a full-length story.
Hades and Persephone are meant to be together. The tender way that Hades cared for and wanted to protect Persephone is lovely. The way that Hades called Persephone "Little Bird", tugged at my heartstrings.
The Reluctant Star by Loren Sorensen
Norah and Marlon aka Psyche and Eros feel drawn to each other from the first moment they meet. Although, I will say that it was not always roses between these two. Yet, Norah is not afraid to let Marlon know when he has messed up.
Out of all of the stories featured in this anthology this one was the longest. I definitely could see story playing as a movie.
