Book Review: Undercover in Hanalei

Nicholas Ballard has dedicated most of his life to being a cop. He loves his job and his life. He's content and doesn't feel the need to complicate things with a relationship. However, one by one, his best friends have all gotten married or settled down over the past year, and he's beginning to feel like the odd man out.

Nick's resolve not to follow their path weakens after meeting a woman who makes him reconsider everything.

Leialoha is determined to exact revenge on the men who took her father from her and her mother nearly two decades ago. In her quest for payback, she meets Detective Nick Ballard and is quickly enamored.

She makes the wrong move and realizes she's in too deep. Will Nick be there to pull her out?

My Review

While this book is part of this series, it can be read as a standalone book. What I love the most about Nalani's books is how much she cares for her characters. It is like they are family. Nick's dedication to his job is admiral. It showed in the way that he was so protective towards Leialoha.

Speaking of Leialoha, she is not a damsel in distress. She can hold her own, but it is nice to see her and Nick work so well together. They shared a slow burn romance that did pick up speed as the story progressed. The looks they gave one another just added to the intensity between them. So that when they finally gave into their feelings, I was so ready it. Readers of this series will enjoy this newest addition. New readers will want to pick up a copy of this book. Undercover in Hanalei is a steamy, romantic suspense read that you need to pick up!
