I am Home

Ten years after the high-profile kidnapping of two young boys, only one returns home in Harlan Coben’s next gripping thriller, to be published in September 2016.

A decade ago, kidnappers grabbed two boys from wealthy families and demanded ransom, then went silent. No trace of the boys ever surfaced. For ten years their families have been left with nothing but painful memories and a quiet desperation for the day that has finally, miraculously arrived: Myron Bolitar and his friend Win believe they have located one of the boys, now a teenager. Where has he been for ten years, and what does he know about the day, more than half a life ago, when he was taken? And most critically: What can he tell Myron and Win about the fate of his missing friend? Drawing on his singular talent, Harlan Coben delivers an explosive and deeply moving thriller about friendship, family, and the meaning of home.

My Review

It has been a while since I have read anything by this author. Thus, when I came across this book I thought It sounded very intriguing and now was the perfect time to read another book by this author. While, these events were tied to another previous book in this series, I had no problems jumping right into reading this book. This is because the past events were not solely tied to what transpired in this book. The book started out great. Lots of action and I enjoyed Win's attitude. I would say he was confident more then cocky. Although, if he was cocky he could back it up. Win and Myron make a good pair. They bounce well off each other. This is due to a long standing history of friendship together. How do I know this? Because I got that vibe by reading this book. Not to take anything away from this book as Win and Myron were great and I was just as interested as these two to find out the truth but when Win or Myron or both of them were not in the middle of it all; this is when the story slowed down a lot for me. During the talking scenes my mind would wander. I found myself more skimming this book then actually reading it. At least the story ending well.

I just picked this up to try but not sure this is the one to try Harlan C for the first time. Hmmmm what to read tonight? I just finished a book I skimmed, not interested in that again.
