Postcards from the Sky

The aviation world is a man’s world—it always has been, and it continues to be so today. In fact, women make up a mere 5 to 6 percent of the total pilot population worldwide. My Review

I finally found a book that helped me get out of my book reading slump. I sat down to read this book and a few hours later I was done with it. I enjoyed reading all of Erin's adventures. I like that she stood her ground in the male driven world of aviation. It is women like Erin that are good role models for other women. I have always been fascinated by the aviation world. I did take some flying lessons and have about 20 hours under my belt. It has been years since I have taken lessons again but I have not given up my dream of one day getting my pilot's license.

Reading this book I really did feel like I got a sense of who Erin is as a person. I enjoyed this because when I am reading memoirs I want to get to know who the person is that I am reading about. The pictures featured in this book were cool as well. One of my favorite parts was towards the end when Erin and her friend went to Airventure in Oshkosh, WI. I have been there twice before. It is held annually in July. I would like to go back some day but I think I will skip the camping experience.
