Book Review: Mine for the Night

I can have him if I pay.

Delicious. Mysterious. Paid for. That’s the best way to describe male escort Damon. One night and one condition: Pretend to be the perfect boyfriend while seriously irritating my boss at our magazine’s masquerade campaign. Problem is… I actually like him.

Clover Granture should not have curves and wit like that—the kind that provoke my primal needs. As a client, she’s off-limits. Worse, she works for Candice Fashion Magazine drawing me too close to the spotlight. And yet, when she pulls me into her “fake boyfriend” schemes, I find myself enjoying it. But if she finds out my true identity, it could ruin everything I’ve built.

My Review

Clover asking Damon for a discount on his services is hilarious! I do believe this is a sin to ask that of an escort. Although, I can't blame Clover for requesting the discount as Damon in the moment was not really giving sexy, mysterious man. I appreciated Clover for trying hang and put up with a horrible boss, but I did feel like she was being walked over a bit and needed to step up more. Because she was so focused on her job, the chemistry between Damon and Clover was a bit slower. It was not all Clover as Damon did have a role as well. The same as to why he hides behind a mask and did not tell Clover the whole truth.

Just want to say that Kia has come a long way since these earlier books. This is a great accomplishment and compliment. I am obsessed with her writing and her latest books. They are must reads. With this book, I did find myself struggling with connecting as quickly to Clover, honestly. The steam level was very low and did not happen until much later into the story.
