Book Review: Lolli-Gag

Image
They say I’m insane that I imagined the oven. The blood. The way my mother smiled while she tried to cook me alive. So they locked me away in Hillsboro Institute—where the walls breathe, the doctors lie and the screams never stop. Let’s not forget the lukewarm showers and the cafeteria that's nothing but a cage for the zoo animals. The beautiful creatures between these walls are the most frightening creatures you will ever meet, and Master D is the worst of them all. Then there is me–Hi I’m Lolli- Lolli-Gag. I’m your resident clown who never stops giggling, talks a mile a minute and loves to make friends, even if Jethro hates everyone. Then they arrived…the four monsters in human skin who don’t belong in cages any more than I do. Jagger, all rage and ruin. Killian, cold enough to cut me open and call it perfection. Lucifer, who whispers like sin and sees right through me. Vinny…the one who watches from the shadows like he’s deciding if I’m worth saving. They don’t believe I’m bro...

Book Review: Highway to Happy

Image
Sometimes you just need a road trip... I didn’t mean to stare at Adam Woodbury. And I definitely didn’t mean to assume he was homeless. But when you see a man in a small-town café eating like he hasn’t had a real meal in days, then sharing the last bite with his big golden retriever, it’s hard not to wonder. With his sun-streaked hair brushing his shoulders, scruffy face, flannel shirt torn at the elbows, faded jeans, and dusty boots, he looks like he stepped right out of one of those vagabond movies. The kind where the leading man carries secrets in his silence. Turns out, Adam isn’t lost. He’s searching—traveling the back roads of Georgia in a camper van, capturing the world through his camera lens while trying to outrun the ghosts of his past. I should’ve kept my distance. But somehow, this wandering soul with a love for the simple things in life has pulled me out of my comfort zone of real estate contracts and high heels, and into his world of open skies, campfires, and quiet...

Book Review: Where We Left Us

Image
We grew up in the same house. We were never supposed to love each other like that. But I did—quietly, carefully, with a guilt I never learned to outrun. I was placed with the Holmes family at ten years old. Hayden and I were the same age, sharing a house, a family, and a line we weren’t supposed to cross. He left Coral Bay and built a life somewhere else. We stayed in touch. We stayed family. And I told myself that was enough, burying the feelings I wasn’t supposed to carry. Now he’s back—divorced, a single dad, and we’re sharing space and responsibility again. The house feels smaller. The past feels closer. And the feelings I locked away are breaking free. Every touch is a confession. Every line we cross can’t be uncrossed. And Hayden and I both know it—and still risk it. But wanting this has a cost. It can fracture the only family I’ve ever known—and force us to choose between the love we can no longer deny and everything we stand to lose. My Review Hayden and Evangeline grew u...

Audiobook Review: All the Rest

Image
It's been five years since I found my family. Not my bio-family—my found family of friends. I love them to pieces, but lately they aren’t enough. I want a baby. All my friends have family units with cuddly babies, and I want that too. But I turn thirty-five in less than a month. Clock’s ticking, so I’ve got to hustle. I need some baby batter to bake a bun in my oven as soon as possible. One problem: baby batter comes from men, and I’m really tired of men and their heartbreaker BS. Manic, though, is different from the other men. A retired sideshow circus performer with piercings all over the place, he’s different from everyone. I really like him, and I think he really likes me, too, but he flat out refuses to get me pregnant. Is Manic worth giving up my dream of being a kickass mom? Maybe. The fourth and final book of the award winning Lost In Austin series, All the Rest is a grumpy/sunshine romance with tons of laughs and heart and dirty, dirty smut. It's the last book in the...

Book Review: Claiming Raven

Image
I’ve always known my life wasn’t really mine—Not my choices. Not my future. Everything changes when Dante Bianchi and Anton Ricci step in. They rule Seven Hills with ruthless precision. The deeper I fall into their world, the more dangerous everything becomes. Men like them don’t just protect what they want—They claim it. My Review This book showed me the Emily that I came to know and like. Do check your triggers though as some of first scene is a bit hard to read.  However, Raven is a fighter. She does not have to fight alone. She is joined by three guys, Dante, Anton, and Leo, who are very supportive of Raven. Don't mess with her as these guys will not let it go. It is with their love that Raven does find strength. Emily brings the darker side with this book. Readers of Emily's will like this book.  THIS IS A DARK ROMANCE WITH HEAVY TRIGGERS. READER'S DISCRETION IS HIGHLY ADVISED.

Book Review: Pixels

“I just got sucked into an early nineties’ video game. Happens all the time.” “I don’t know the frequency, but that is what happened this time.” “Okay,” Teddy nods, “sure.” After a late night and some questionable candy, Teddy wakes to find himself in a whole new world filled with favorite nostalgic characters, but also the challenges that come along with them. Denni has been exploring the same desert her whole life, hoping for something new, but she never expected the man who has been playing her game to play with her heart. Can the two level up their relationship, or will it be game over? Pixels is book 16 in the Kyleverse, a series of sentient object romance short stories. Kyle isn’t the main character, but he shows up to help the plot in one way or another. The stories are sequential but can be read as standalones. My Review I am a gamer both of computer and console. So, I am a sucker of gamer stories. This one is a fun one. As a gamer, who won't want to find themselves trans...

Book Review: Folds - Anthology

Image
Folds is a monstrously steamy multi-author anthology celebrating every curve, crease, and ripple. Aliens, death, hive minds, mermaids, nagas, tiny fairies, and wolf women, these creatures prove the best secrets—and pleasures—are tucked just out of sight. Cringe has never been so irresistible. Featuring short stories ASH RAVEN B.P. GILMORE EMILIA ABRAHAM JENIFER WOOD JILLIAN GRAVES LYONNE RILEY PETRA PALERNO It's Not the Size that Counts Trisha’s having a quiet night in, doing some self-care, when a fairy crashes through her window. Boo Review; Save a Horse, Ride a Cow Man

Image
Welcome to Taurus Ranch, where the romance is high-heat and heartfelt, and the cowboys are cow men. Broke, jobless, and surrounded by exes and friends I’m pretty sure don’t actually like me, I’m at my wits’ end. So when I get a call that my estranged grandma died and gave me half her guest ranch, I do the only logical thing—pack up my entire life and move across the country to a place I haven’t been since I was six. Reckless? Absolutely. In my defense, I have nothing to lose. Or so I thought. Turns out that the ranch has seen better days and needs a miracle to bring it back to life. To make matters worse, Cal, the grumpy minotaur who got the other half of the ranch, seems determined to make my life a living hell. Too bad for him, I’m as stubborn as the ranch’s namesake. This is my chance to start over and find a place where I belong, and I won’t give up because some rude, annoyingly hot cow man thinks I’m not good enough. As we learn to work together, stern glares and cutting bar...

Book Review: When You Stayed

Image
What to Expect: Small Town Motorcycle Club Enemies to Lovers Secret Crush Obsession Secret Tattoo Suspense  I was never meant to stay in Rose Ridge. My father was the president of a notorious motorcycle club, so if something rattled him enough to request that I go, I should have listened. In my defense, at the time, it seemed more terrifying to give up the only dream I ever had than to leave like everyone else. I should have known that chasing that dream would lead back to the club, because everything in this town eventually did. I wasn’t expecting to see a familiar face, glaring as usual, amidst the chaos surrounding the Stone Riders. For years, I had endured scowls, glares, and scoffs from Ford Ryan. However, there was something new and different about his heated stare, and even that oddly protective touch. Something dangerous and addictive. I should have left when I had the chance, because my proximity to Ford and the club meant I was close to danger. Even worse would be ...
