Book Review: Days of Revenge

He was supposed to be my protector. Instead, he stole my body. Broke my heart. Toyed with my life.

So now...vengeance is all I seek.

Age shouldn’t matter to an immortal goddess. But for Adirah, turning eighteen heralded a loss of innocence — at the hands of the one person who should have protected her. Now, thirty years after forsaking her kingdom for the human world, Adirah has a found family, a desk job in an architecture firm, and — finally — her body is hers to enjoy.

The only problem is, her last fling left in a hurry, so Adirah isn’t sure who she’s exchanging flirty texts with. Until grouchy, gorgeous Royce Wolfe is right there in front of her...again. This time, the romance is fierce and breathtaking for two people certain that they don’t “do” relationships.

But when Adirah’s past threatens to destroy the future she wants and the people she loves, she must finally face her responsibilities, her secrets — and the one man she vowed never to see again.

Days of Revenge is the first book in The Azurian Afsana series by Jawairia Ali. Featuring an FMC who is learning to step into her power and an MMC intoxicated by her strength, this passionate book explores the limits of love and responsibility.

My Review

I was first drawn to this book by the gorgeous book cover. Then by the premise of the book. This is one book that I was looking forward to reading and author, Jawairia did not disappoint me. Is love stronger the second time around? I can answer that, and the answer is yes!!

There was no real interaction between Adirah and her lover before she escaped to the mortal realm. Yet just the feelings that Adirah felt when her lover was dead was something I did feel. So, when Royce came into the picture, I felt that instant emotional connection he and Adirah shared. They are kindred souls.

It was great to see Adirah happy after the event that forced her to escape. She was able to show her true self. I do look forward to reading the next book.
