The Chronicle of Secret Riven

Image
I can remember reading The Mapmaker's War and falling in love with the book and the author. I thought that Ronlyn brought something new and refreshing that I had not read in a long time. While The Chronicle of Secret Riven is the second book in this trilogy, it is completely different from the first book. So if you have not read The Mapmaker's War then you would be fine reading this book. Although, I have to tell you that you should go back and read the first book. You will be hooked. In this second book, readers are introduced to Secret Riven. Right from the beginning I liked Secret Riven. She had a quite gift. I almost liked her better when she did not talk. She spoke bigger volumes when she was silent. However as much as I liked Secret Riven. I did not feel like the story really took off until half way. Then it was nothing but smooth sailing from this point until the ending. I can not wait to get my hands on the third book. Purchase a copy on Amazon or Barnes ...

If I Can't Have You

I can remember reading bits and pieces about the Powell family on the internet. Just like everyone else, I was spellbound by this story. Hoping for a happy ending. Even though Susan was missing. I was praying for the two little boys, Charlie and Braden. It seemed like the boys were going to get their happy ending until that unthinkable act by their father took them away. I am familiar with Mr. Olsen's work as an author. I can not imagine writing a book like this. I don't know how Ann Rule does it. I have read some of her books as well. This story is really sad. It goes to show you that we all have our secrets. You never know what people are hiding behind closed doors. It is very sad that Susan was so dedicated to her husband, despite all the signs that he exhibited in their marriage. If she could have found the greater strength to leave sooner, this story might have been different. Again, it is easy for me and others to say ...could have, should have, would have, w...

The Ghost Horse: A True Story of Love, Death, and Redemption

I have never heard of Tim Snyder or Lisa's Booby Trap until now. What a wonderful story. I love a feel good story that just warms the heart and leaves me with a big smile on my face. This is what this book did for me. Mr. Snyder and Lisa's Booby Trap needed each other but did not know it until they were united. I have always had a place in my heart for horses. Although I am not as horse crazy as Mr. Snyder or his wife, Lisa was herself. She was truly born to ride horses. Even though I have never met the Snyder's I do believe that Lisa did make good on her promise to come back as a horse in her new life. This book shows that if you have patience, the will, a big heart, and love that you can achieve anything. I mean it is incredible that Lisa's Booby Trap won her first race. She just needed someone to show her she could do it. I read this book in a matter of a few hours. This book is a keeper. Horse lovers will enjoy reading this book. Check out the facebook page...
